At &Open, our Creative team is a close-knit group of designers and creatives who dream up and deliver thoughtful gifting experiences for our customers. We work across creative concepts, merchandise collections, product development, production artwork, catalogue content, and Shopify experiences.

We obsess over the details -  materials, finishes, decoration methods, packaging, colour, and storytelling - because we believe every element contributes to a gift’s emotional impact.

As we continue to scale, we are evolving toward a more product-led and catalogue-first approach while continuing to raise the bar on creativity, taste, and execution.

We’re looking for a highly creative Senior Designer to join the team on a freelance or fixed-term contract basis for approximately 6 months.

This role will focus on leading and supporting creative client briefs - developing strong gifting concepts, curated merchandise collections, and thoughtful creative responses that align with our clients’ brands and gifting needs.

We’re looking for someone who combines strong creative thinking with a deep understanding of product development and merch. You should be confident not only in building visually strong collections and presentations, but also in understanding what products work commercially, emotionally, and operationally.

You’ll act as both a designer and creative partner to clients - translating brand direction, campaign themes, and gifting objectives into compelling, scalable gifting experiences.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys working across concepting, curation, product development, and presentation.

• Lead and support creative responses to client gifting briefs
• Develop thoughtful, brand-aligned gifting concepts and collections
• Build clear creative narratives and collection stories
• Translate campaign themes, brand values, and client needs into gifting ideas
• Present creative thinking confidently internally and externally when needed

• Curate merch collections with a strong understanding of product quality, decoration, materials, and finish
• Develop new product ideas and custom solutions where appropriate
• Collaborate closely with B&M and production teams to ensure concepts are feasible and scalable
• Bring strong awareness of trends, product innovation, and premium merchandise standards

• Apply a high level of creative judgement across all outputs
• Ensure collections, products, and presentations align with &Open’s creative and quality standards
• Push for thoughtful, well-resolved design solutions and product choices
• Collaborate closely with the wider creative team to raise the quality bar across work

• Strong experience in creative design, merch, branding, or campaign-focused design work
• Excellent creative and conceptual thinking skills
• Strong understanding of product development, materials, and decoration techniques
• Ability to curate thoughtful, premium product collections
• Strong presentation and storytelling skills
• High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Ability to manage multiple briefs and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• A sharp eye for detail, aesthetics, and visual consistency
• Experience working in branding, merchandise, gifting, retail, or creative agency environments is highly desirable
