About &Open

We’re the global gifting platform for companies that care.

Our platform sends gifts globally at scale, while our team guides the process with taste, thought and attention to detail.

As a B Corp-certified company, we’re all about less waste, more impact. At the end of the day, it’s not how much you send, it’s how you make people feel that matters.

Our customers include OpenAI, Hubspot, Revolut and Fin.

Come and grow with us.

About the team

You’ll report to Mathew, our Head of Product. He’s managed Product and Design teams for years at places like Intercom, Zendesk, and King. He’s passionate about our product and the impact it has, the accomplishment we feel from our craft, and working in an environment where we make progress and grow week by week.

You’ll work closely with Andrew and Vaidehi, our Product Designers. Andrew has 7 years at &Open under his belt and brings a depth of understanding of our customers and the domain that you’ll learn from.

Juan is our Head of Engineering, and the final part of your trio. He’s built an incredible team of Product Engineers that you’ll work closely with.

You’ll also collaborate across our business with folks in Creative, Buying and Merchandising, Sales, Customer Success, and Support. You’ll have exposure to and often collaborate with our senior leadership team, right up to the CEO.

About the role

Think back to a time when you received a really thoughtful gift. You received something you came to love, wrapped up carefully letting you know a lot of thought went into it. Something that puts a real smile on your face.

Now think about how it felt for the person gifting it to you. They thought long and hard about you, carefully choosing the gift. That pang of excitement thinking about how you’d feel when you received it.

In this role, you’ll be working on a software product that creates that feeling again and again. You’ll be the second Product person at &Open, working alongside our Head of Product. You’ll own real projects from day one: the problem, the solution, the delivery, and the outcome.

The &Open platform is home to all of our high quality gifts, custom made or chosen from our collection of amazing sellers across the globe. You’ll work on the core product that lets customers like Clay, Etsy, Hubspot, Intercom and Revolut choose and send gifts that create special moments and build relationships that last.

We’re a startup, so the job changes shape week to week. One day you’re deep in a delivery detail with an Engineer, the next you’re sizing up a new bet with our CEO.

What you'll do?

You’ll work across the whole product, partnering closely with Mathew on all of it. That means the platform our gift senders use, our tools for creating custom gifts, the experience we create for gift recipients, and our integrations with the tools our customers already work in.

  • Work in a trio of Product, Design, and Engineering. You’ll set the direction for your projects and bring people with you.

  • Spend time with customers. You’ll run your own research, sit in on sales and support calls, and dig through the feedback we already have to work out which problems are worth solving.

  • Write the thinking down. Our 1-pagers carry the problem, the evidence, and how we’ll know whether we won. You’ll own them for your projects.

  • Drive solutioning with your team. We encourage you to think big, but start small. Low fidelity work first, then higher fidelity as we gain confidence.

  • Own delivery. You’ll break work into pieces we can ship, keep it moving, unblock people, and make the call on scope when a date matters.

  • Measure what happened after we ship, and tell the company about it, including the times we got it wrong.

  • Use AI as a matter of course. We already automate reporting, research synthesis and prototyping with it, and we want you to push that further.

When you join, you’ll spend time in different parts of our business to get to know how we work end to end, for example with our creative team, buying and merchandising, logistics, and account management. You’ll meet some of our customers early too.

What you'll need

  • 5-7 years in Product Management, with a good chunk of it in a startup. You’ve worked somewhere small enough that you shipped without a researcher, an analyst, or a project manager to lean on.

  • Three or four projects you’ve owned completely end to end, from problem through to outcome, that you can talk through in detail including the impact you had.

  • You’ve owned delivery as well as discovery. You can break a big piece of work into shippable pieces, keep a team moving, and cut scope when a date matters.

  • Experience of working directly with customers and driving your own research.

  • You use AI every day and you can show us how. We’d like to see the prompts, workflows, agents or tools you’ve built to make your own work faster.

  • You’re happy being hands on. We do good work and we hold a high bar, but we get scrappy when the situation calls for it, and you’ll switch between the two often.

  • You’re at home with ambiguity, and you can take a vague problem and turn it into something a team can build.

  • You write well. We write our thinking down to sharpen it and to share it.

  • You’re at home with tools like Notion, Figma, ClickUp, and a product analytics tool like Mixpanel.

  • You’re based in Dublin or, if working remotely, within a couple of hours of the GMT timezone. If you’re remote, you’re ok with some very occasional travel to collaborate with the team in person or attend important company events.

The interview process

Our process is designed to be fast. Most candidates get through the entire process in less than two weeks, and we’ll give you a clear decision quickly.

All applications are reviewed by the hiring manager for the role. We don’t use AI agents for automated decision-making.

We don’t set take-home assignments or ask you for unpaid work.

When you apply we ask you to share something you’ve already written for a project you owned, and later in the process we ask you to spend 30 minutes working through a problem live with us, using your own tools.
