About &Open

We're the global gifting platform for companies that care.

Our platform sends gifts globally at scale, while our team guides the process with taste, thought and attention to detail.

As a B Corp-certified company, we're all about less waste, more impact. At the end of the day, it's not how much you send, it's how you make people feel that matters.

Our customers include OpenAI, Hubspot, Revolut and Fin.
Come and grow with us.

About the team

Fintan is our CTO. He's been hands on with our integrations and API from the start and will be your escalation point on anything technical that runs deeper than a workaround. Juan is our Head of Engineering. He's built a team of Product Engineers who own the integrations and API you'll be putting in front of customers. Ross, our Engineering Specialist, does a lot of this work today and will be the person you learn the current set-ups from. You'll also work closely with our Head of Product.

On the commercial side you'll work with Amber, our VP of Growth and Marketing, and with our account managers and sales team. They bring the customers; you make the technical side of the promise hold. You'll have exposure to and often collaborate with our senior leadership team, right up to the CEO.

About the role

Think about the moment a new customer signs with &Open. They've bought into the idea: gifts that land at the right time, for the right person, sent from the tools their team already works in. Now someone has to make that real. Their HubSpot needs to talk to our platform. The automation they were promised in the sales call needs to actually fire. The account needs to be set up so the first gift goes out without a hitch.

Today that work is spread across a lot of people: our Head of Product, our CTO, account managers, engineers. Everyone does a piece of it and nobody owns it end to end. You will.

You'll be our first Solutions Engineer. You'll sit between our customers and our product, working out how &Open fits into the systems they already run, designing the solution, and seeing it through until the integration is live and being used. Then you'll bring what you learned back to the product team so the next customer needs less of your help.

We're a startup, so the job changes shape week to week. One day you're on a call with a prospect walking through how our API works, the next you're deep in a HubSpot workflow with a customer's ops team, the next you're writing the playbook so it goes faster the time after that.

What you'll do?

You'll work across the whole customer journey, from the first technical conversation in a sales cycle to a live integration with automations running. That means our platform, our integrations with the tools our customers already use, our API, and the customer's own systems.
  • Run technical demos. Cross-system flows, integrations, the API. Product demos too when nobody else can, but the technical ones are yours.
  • Gather requirements from customers. Understand what they're trying to do, what systems they run, and what "working" looks like for them.
  • Design solutions. Work out how our product layers into the customer's existing systems to solve their need. When the product doesn't do it out of the box, design the workaround, whether that's configuration on our side, setup in their tools, or something like Zapier in between.
  • Get customers live. Set up our integrations and product for them, and set up the other pieces of the solution too, like the HubSpot workflows that trigger a gift.
  • Drive adoption. An integration that's connected but not used doesn't count. You own getting automations live and keeping them live.
  • Troubleshoot and debug. When an integration, automation or bespoke solution breaks for a customer you've worked with, you're the first call.
  • Write it down. Find the gaps in our documentation and playbooks, fill the important ones yourself, delegate the rest, and review what others write.
  • Feed the product team. You'll see more customer set-ups than anyone else here. Bring the patterns back to Product and Engineering so workarounds become features and gaps get closed.
  • Ship some code. Not much, but some. Small, contained changes where you know exactly what's needed and it's faster to do it than to explain it.
  • Use AI as a matter of course. We already automate reporting, research synthesis and prototyping with it, and integration work suits it well. We want you to push that further.
When you join, you'll spend time with the people who do pieces of this work today: Account Management, Sales, Product and Engineering. You'll shadow demos and onboarding calls before you run them, and you'll meet customers early.

What you'll need

  • 3-6 years in a solutions engineering, sales engineering, implementation or technical account management role at a B2B software company, ideally somewhere small enough that you did the whole job yourself without a delivery team behind you.
  • Integrations you've delivered end to end that you can talk through in detail: what the customer needed, how you designed it, what went wrong, and whether it stuck.
  • Comfort with APIs, webhooks and the plumbing between systems. You can read API docs, make requests, inspect a payload and work out why something didn't fire.
  • Hands-on experience with a CRM or marketing platform like HubSpot, and with automation tools like Zapier or Make.
  • Some ability to code. You don't need to be an engineer, but you can read code, write a script, and land a small change with an engineer's review.
  • You're good in front of customers. You can run a demo, hold a requirements conversation with an ops or RevOps team, and explain a technical constraint without hiding behind it.
  • You write well. Playbooks and documentation are a core part of the job, not an afterthought.
  • You use AI every day and you can show us how. We'd like to see the prompts, workflows, agents or tools you've built to make your own work faster.
  • You're happy being hands on. We do good work and we hold a high bar, but we get scrappy when the situation calls for it, and you'll switch between the two often.
  • You're at home with ambiguity, and with owning something nobody has owned before.
  • You're based in Dublin or, if working remotely, within a couple of hours of the GMT timezone. If you're remote, you're ok with some very occasional travel to collaborate with the team in person or attend important company events.
